The Prussian and Bavarian telegraphers buckles were constructed in two versions, most commonly encountered in brass but rarely encountered in stamped steel, this Prussian example with virtually all of its original field grey paint visible with its correct double pronged belt fixing system on the reverse side. Very rarely found are the stamped steel gilded enlisted ranks buckles for the Navy, they were produced with a smooth breast to the eagle, some of the pebbling to the main field is quite thin.
