A most magnificent condition all leather pickelhaube for a Prussian medical officer, identified. The gilt is mint bright, the reserve officers cross to the front gilded plate in silver colour. A superb trench periscope, 160cm in length, in its original issue paint. Manufactured by Hansoldt of Wetzlar. Dated ‘1918’, in its original all tin carrying case with the remains of its paper substitute strap. GERMAN WWI SAXON ENLISTED MANS PICKELHAUBE.

A very clean condition Saxon pickelhaube with early brass fittings. Both national and State cockades are untouched, both are of the serrated style. The brown leather chinstrap is good and supple.
