GERMAN WWI ALL TIN PRUSSIAN PICKELHAUBE.

A nice condition all tin Prussian enlisted mans pickelhaube, these were primarily made by the tin toy manufacturers. Excellent skull with just four minor indentations. A very nice example still retaining the remains of what is now hardened flock finish, it is estimated that only 100,000 of the original batch of these helmets were finished in the non reflective flock finish. A highly interesting brass mounted Saxon pickelhaube, small size skull. All the fittings are in brass, with its original chinstrap and its original non serrated national and Saxon State cockades. A superb battlefield pick-up, all leather pickelhaube, small size, a battle damaged shrapnel crease just to the left of the front plate. A very nice condition all leather pickelhaube being in an unusually large size. Both peaks securely attached to the main body, stitching has not rotted. An all silver stamped Iron Cross 1st class, flat construction, wide tapering pin. ‘800’ marked to the exterior of the pin on the reverse side. The award has toned overall.  read more
