GERMAN WWI SAXON ENLISTED MANS PICKELHAUBE.

A very clean condition Saxon pickelhaube with early brass fittings. Both national and State cockades are untouched, both are of the serrated style. The brown leather chinstrap is good and supple. The rear peak stitches are slightly loose to one side and the brass spine along with the spike base has some slight knocks. The leather skull is solid with very little cracking or wear to the finish. Inside the helmet the blackened leather liner is missing some tongues and showing signs of heavy use, there is only one leather plug remaining to the twin plate fixing lugs. There are no signs of a maker’s mark or date visible.
