GERMAN PRE WWI EAST ASIAN MARINE PITH HELMET.

A fabulously rare example of the tan canvas covered cork helmet worn by marine troops in the German Colonies in Asia, Model 1895, having its single Reich cockade fitted to the front of the helmet. Some storage staining and light discoloration overall. Complete with its cloth centre band. No damage to the cork body, which is highly unusual. Complete with its cork sprung inner leather liner, the interior all green brush cotton lined. Very faint traces of white rectangular ink marking to the interior lining.
