Always difficult to find in field grey, relatively easy in brass, with Bavarian enlisted mans pickelhaube plate. Slight rubbing of the chemically grey finish on the high spots of the plate. Both of its fittings pin on the reverse side.  read more

Worn by various Pioneer Battalions in white medal. The sceptre is all complete but has broken away from the eagle to the left hand side of the plate. Both fixing lugs present on the reverse side.  read more

White metal, good condition but missing the lion’s tail and both of the rear loops, also missing part of the antlers.  read more

GERMAN WWI HESSE DRAGOON PICKLEHAUBE.

A scarce hessian Dragoon Picklehaube, large size leather skull, which has crazed overall, the front and rear peaks securely attached to the main body, the stitching that attaches the peaks to the main skull has not rotted, all of the fittings of the helmet are in white metal indicating either Dragoon Regiment 24 or 25 of the state of Hesse. GERMAN WWI GERMAN PATTERN 08 FERNGLAS BINOCULARS FROM THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME.

A well worn set of Fernglas 08 binoculars, painted field grey with some losses to the finish, one slight chip to the left hand eyepiece. Excellent optics, marked ‘Fernglas 08’ plus the name of ‘Carl Zeiss Jena’, unusually with the date of ‘VII 1916’, with its black leather carrying strap.  read more

A nice clean set of the official pattern 1908 binoculars, painted in field grey with its brown leather strap, marked ‘Fernglas 08’ with issue number and the manufacturer ‘Goerz Berlin’. The majority of the field grey paint finish remaining, optic excellent. Han engraved around the front left hand lens is the name of a soldier or maybe officer with the date of ‘August 1917. A particularly super quality example, flat back, pin stamped ‘935 silber’. KO makers mark below the hook, super quality almost mint condition retaining all black finish to the central core. The flat top case covered in black artificial leather with a bright silver Iron Cross emblem to the centre. White silk lining to the inside lid with a dark purple velvet to the base of the inner box.  read more

GERMAN WWI FOOT ARTILLERY OFFICERS SMALL CAPACITY BINOCULARS, WITH CARRYING CASE.

Faintly marked ‘DPx8’ plus ‘Carl Zeiss Jena’. Excellent optics with original black carrying strap. All the leather covering to the frame present, slightly discoloured. All fitted into its original fitted high quality leather case, stitching excellent, with a compass set into the lid, the carrying case is with its original carrying strap and belt loop, the compass appears to be malfunctioned.  read more

GERMAN WWI OFFICERS EARLY WAR PRIVATE PURCHASE BINOCULARS.

Marked ‘C.P.Goerz Berlin’ to the left hand side of the frame, to the right hand side ‘Trieder Binocle’. Excellent optics with original black leather carrying strap, this rare pattern was one of the very first types of binoculars for military use being introduced by armies across Europe. Very good quality brown hard leather case, topped with carrying straps, which is slightly worn.  read more
