GERMAN WWII U-BOAT BINOCULARS.

A very nice set of the BLC marked 7 x 50 binoculars, the main body having the majority of its original battleship grey in place with some abrasions. All of the rubber covers for the lenses and the eyepiece area are complete. The optics are excellent with its original lens cover, which is fitted to the main body on a rubber strap. The neck strap looks to be a replacement and is probably British. At the end of WWII literally hundreds of these binoculars were captured by British forces as the British area of occupation included all of the naval ports, in the 1950’s the British Government held auctions of captured material, these were bought in quantities by mainly an optic company in Scotland and were marketing them for sale at the time at the equivalent of a week’s wages for each set of binoculars.
