GERMAN WWII POLICE OFFICERS BERGMUTZE.
A scarce piece of police headdress being the bergmutze worn by a police officer, constructed in police green. No size markings but on test probably 56 or 57. The nap to the cloth is thin, on pulling down the side curtains the remaining cloth has good nap with much lighter police green colour. Officers silver piping to the crown. One moth nip to the rear of the crown. Double button closure. Fitted with an enlisted ranks Bevo woven police eagle and metallic officers cockade above. Slight staining to the exterior of the bergmutze short peak. To the interior a short grey leather sweatband, the remainder being of a black rayon lining, which in parts mainly around the side and the rear has come away from the main body of the cap.
