GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE M.43 OFFICERS PEAK FIELD CAP.

A possibly private tailored M.43 officers field cap but constructed in enlisted ranks material. Silver officers piping to the crown, some of which is lightly oxidised. The eagle is of the narrow wing variety early droop tailed, it does have some strands missing and oxidisation with a slightly better bullion wire cockade below, this is in a better condition because it has mainly been protected by the double button side curtains. No moth damage. Complete with a metallic edelweiss badge on the left hand side. To the interior an ersatz mid brown sweatband has been fitted. The remainder of the interior lining has been completed with standard tailors striped sleeve lining, a distinct difference in the coloration between the lining that has been exposed and the lining that has been covered by the sweatband. An original owner’s name in red indelible pencil has been handwritten to the upper inner crown but unfortunately we have been unable to decipher the name.
