A good M.40 large Q66 size shell retaining much of its original field grey finish with slight rust bleed to the crown and other areas. The army decal has slight rust bleed to the left hand side but the decal is otherwise virtually complete, with its original untouched liner, the leather has become thin on the one inner edge. A nice award document grouping of six award certificates, an SA Sports Badge book and a very good studio portrait of Oberwachtmeister Kurt Bahr wearing all of his decorations. He fought in Luftwaffe Heavy Flak units in the northern sector of the Eastern Front and was most particularly closely involved with the fighting in and around the Demjansk pocket. Without doubt one of the most attractive and impressive of all the motoring plaques being this classic art deco style multi coloured plaque measuring 11 x 8cm showing a motorcycle and motorcar heading north across a map of Germany, surmounted by the NSKK insignia.
