GERMAN WWI MODEL 1884/98 SAW BACK BAYONET.

The saw back blade with indistinct makers markings. A central weld repair to the blade, with all its saw back edge in place, good wood grips, rifle retaining system jammed. slight surface rust to scabbard, with its frog, which has one rivet missing and some stitches loose.

A nice condition pair comprising the Iron Cross second class with excellent finish to the frame, accompanied by the Bavarian Military Merit Cross third class with swords. The pair mounted in Bavarian style, with its pin back suspension.  read more

GERMAN WWI ERSATZ BAYONET.

An all steel ersatz bayonet. The blade is generally good, single fuller with some cleaned corrosion. The all steel hilt showing signs of cleaned corrosion. Rifle retaining button mechanism working correctly. Fitted into its stamped steel scabbard, which has lost its paint finish and has two indentations.

A slightly battered two-piece buckle in brass and nickel, the nickel overlay has some indentations. On the reverse side the clip is in place and its heavy duty double pronged belt fixing system.  read more

Towards the end of WWI when shortages were evident the buckles amongst many other things were painted on one side, this Bavarian enlisted mans buckle is field grey painted to the exterior, plain steel to the interior, a two-piece constructed buckle with its inner clip and its steel double pronged belt fixing system.  read more

GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN TELEGRAPHERS BELT BUCKLE.

The Prussian and Bavarian telegraphers buckles were constructed in two versions, most commonly encountered in brass but rarely encountered in stamped steel, this Prussian example with virtually all of its original field grey paint visible with its correct double pronged belt fixing system on the reverse side. Complete with its clip for the fitting of the laying reel. A rare buckle.  read more

Some light pitting to very tip of blade, good clear Mauser manufacturer markings, blade could be cleaned. Rifle retaining system working correctly, undamaged grips. Flat section of blade profusely Imperial marked and dated 17. All fitted to its slightly pitted scabbard having one piece of battle damage.
