A rare helmet of the Landesgendarmerie, virtually identical in form to the 1st Prussian Guard Dragoon Regiment, this example marked to the interior ‘LG15’. A very fine condition all black leather, size ‘55½’ stamped skull, some light crazing to the front and rear peaks. All silver fittings with its Bavarian front plate, chinstrap, national and state cockades. An unusual buckle being a rectangular stamped brass buckle with the standard Prussian Gott Mit Uns coat of arms in excellent condition to the front. Single belt clip with a brass loop fitted to the buckle and fitted to the buckle itself is what appears to be a British made leather belt, traces of a British leather maker’s marking to the belt itself, a curiosity. read more
