GERMAN IRON CROSS 1870.

A very rare seen variant with a small ring fitted to the top arm of the cross, through the small ring is fitted the larger ribbon ring, with original old ribbon, which has faded. A good condition medal with deep strike, some small loss of paint to the finish on both sides of the award. This variant is shown in Nimmergut Deutsche Ordnung and Ehrenzeichen Volume 2 page 1047, number 2537 for this variant.
