A good example of the Roold flying helmet worn by British, French and Belgium aviators in WWI. All cork body, canvas finish with four panels to the crown. BRITISH WWI RIMLESS BRODIE HELMET WITH COVER.
A rimless 1st pattern helmet, non magnetic, the second colour has faded incredibly, some rust to the interior dome flooding through the cover. To one side a lozenge form where a unit insignia was applied but obviously the stitching has rotted and has dropped away from the cover. On inverting the helmet the sacking cup material still retains much original colour, although this has faded as well.... read more
