A nice small grouping of paperwork for a German Army General and German Cross in gold winner. The documents belong to Kurt Spitzer, which comprise his War Service Cross 2nd class with swords citation dated ‘30th January 1942’ pen signed by Regimental Colonel. War Service Cross 1st class with swords dated ‘20th April 1942’ pen signed by General Major and Divisional Commander. Wound Badge in black citation dated ‘January 1944’ now on the General Staff of the Army Corps, pencil signed by the Unit Doctor. Winter Medal of the East citation, as an Oberstleutnant ‘August 1942’. A4 size field typed Infantry Assault Badge in silver, dated ‘August 1940’ signed by General Major and Divisional Commander. Kurt Spitzer went on to win the German Cross in gold and finished the war as a General Major. Kurt Spitzer’s uniform as a General Staff Officer Oberst was recently sold within the United States.
