GERMAN WWII POLICE 18 YEAR LONG SERVICE MEDAL IN GILT ON CARD.

An interesting artefact being the highly gilded Police 18 year Long Service Medal on the remaining piece of a Steinhauer & Luck display board with the medal description written in English, these boards were original WWII medals put together for souvenir hunting allied troops at the end of the war. A single tropical shoulder board, olive drab canvas centre, slip-on tab both sides in canvas with deep brown wool underlay to the main board. Silk red piped. Some minor moth tracking to the brown wool underlay. Impression to the buttonhole where the shoulder board has been situated on a tunic or great coat for a great length of time.  read more

A ‘HKP 66’ marked shell retaining all of its original paint finish with just minor abrasions, the army decal has slight losses as can be seen on our web images. An unusual camouflage to this helmet in a deep maroon with slight losses to the crown area, all hand applied. The original paint is present to the interior dome, which would indicate Luftwaffe blue grey. All size stampings are obliterated by the hand applied paint.
