GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE OFFICERS DAGGER.

An unusual Kriegsmarine officers dagger, the construction being standard. The blade is the double fullered non etched blade with full maker’s mark by WKC but with nice ordnance issue markings of a Weimar style eagle over the letter ‘M’ with the number ‘386’ below. A quite unique example of the M.41 field cap being one of the very first of the 2nd pattern caps produced with the inner sweatband but still having the soutache in place, after production orders were issued for the soutache to be removed, we believe this was a white piped cap for army flak. Retaining all of its bronze finish. The medal is fitted with the standard plain blue ribbon, which appears to have been period applied, the correct ribbon for this award should have the Customs style yellow embroidered eagle to the centre of the blue watered silk ribbon.  read more
