The red lining is maker marked ‘Clemens Wagner’ dated ‘March 42’ stamped size ‘56’ with its original Bevo woven factory applied blue on tan tropical eagle and matching cockade with the rare addition of the white infantry waffenfarbe. A possibly private tailored M.43 officers field cap but constructed in enlisted ranks material. Silver officers piping to the crown, some of which is lightly oxidised. A real, been there and done it, visorored field cap from the Afrikakorps, this is a field upgraded officers cap having silver bullion waffenfarbe placed around the crown and the front scallop of the cap, which has oxidised completely.
