A visored field cap totally bleached white worn by a member of the Luftwaffe in North Africa. Correct tan edged national cockade, grey on tan hand applied eagle, to the eagle there is one unidentified stain, which match the stains on other parts of the headdress. A standard issue Army M43 field cap, double button front with one piece bevo insignia, straight line machine stitched in place. correct re inforcment material in place under scallop as shown in the website images. A subdued gorget having lost most of its silver finish to the backing shield. Nice patina to the aluminated eagle however both domed aluminated discs have also loss much paint. Original green felt back cloth is in place however lifting to the lower half allowing examination behind the felt backing material. Full length neck chain present.  read more

A nice condition visor cap from the Veterans Association. All dark blue body. The black mohair centre band is intertwined sections of swastikas with the Kiel Lighthouse. The badge is stamped brass with the very finely embroidered Iron Cross with Kiel Lighthouse centre. No moth damage. Standard leather peak. Two citations, both A5 size, both have suffered from water and rust damage to the edges. Infantry Assault Badge awarded to Willi Zastrau who was a member of 2./Panzerauklarungsabteilung 116, dated ‘October 1944’ pen signed by Major and Unit Commander with his Iron Cross 2nd class citation.  read more
