BRITISH WWII AUXILIARY FIRE SERVICE BRODIE HELMET.

1940 dated liner Brodie helmet, hand painted to the exterior, which has crazed is the lettering ‘AFS’ this was before the introduction of the Fire Service insignia. The liner is complete, marked size ‘7’ dated ‘1940’. The inner liner has solidified and crazed overall with its original sweatband. The inner shell, also nicely dated ‘1939 E C & Co Limited’ with its elasticated webbing chinstrap.  read more

All white painted, central black stripe with letter ‘R’ to both front and back of the helmet. The interior rim painted white with rust bleed. Complete with its elasticated webbing chinstrap. PORTUGUESE SPANISH CIVIL WAR COMBAT HELMET.

During WWI Great Britain supplied Portugal with steel helmets, these had a fluted bowl and smooth lower brim. This example used by the Portuguese Volunteer Legion fighting with the nationalist forces in Spain in 1936 to 39. An extremely rare British helmet from WWII being a 1939 liner dated Brodie that we believe was originally issued and used in North Africa.
