A rare sniper sight for the GEW98 rifle of WWI. Manufactured by Emil Busch of Rathenow. Marked to the sight ‘VISAR 4½ DRGM’ with gun number ‘6284’ stamped just below the adjustment wheel. A very nice service worn and extremely collectable GEW 98 bolt action rifle. The standard arm of the German soldier in WWI, marked to the receiver ‘Waffen Fabrik Mauser A-G Oberndorf’ dated ‘1916’. The wood haft has suffered from dampness but is firm and all in one piece, complete with its head which has slight corrosion has lost all of its paint finish. Individual belt clip. The head is rusted to the upper threaded cap, the lower cap all intact.  read more
