A nice condition size ‘55½’ pencil marked to the inside of the skull, all leather skull. Both peaks securely attached to the main body. All of the fittings, which include the back strap, the large cruciform spike base, the removable smooth spike, front plate with the letters ‘FR’ to the centre and the domed chin scales, front peak trim are all in white metal. An excellent very long sword of the 1889 pattern. Extra detail to the 1889 pattern hilt, more than standard. Prussian eagle, stands of arms and flags to the upper cap area, also floriated to the inside of the bowl with the mirror image of the Prussian eagle on both sides of the bowl.
