A rare helmet being the NCO all leather picklehaube worn by a member of the 23rd or 24th Hessian Dragoon Regiment, both of those regiments had all white metal fittings . the leather skull good and strong, minor crazing overall with one small area of loss of the skin to the left hand side of the Hessian front plate as the helmet is viewed, one of the spike cross base white metal domes is missing...  read more

Very nice condition, frosted highlights, good gilt in the lower field overall. Cut out crown for officers, unusually having split pin fixings on the reverse side, officers plates are normally found with screw threaded pegs.  read more
