A rare 1847 style of buckle of a Hessian infantryman, larger than the later model, quite indistinct detail to the Hessian crown. Some distortion to the buckle, with its heavy duty double pronged belt fixing system of which the tube is slightly bent. A fine battlefield pick-up piece being a small size leather skulled Baden infantry mans pickelhaube. All brass fittings, which had dulled to matching colour. Large Baden front plate.
