PRUSSIAN 1860 MODEL PICKELHAUBE.

A very nice condition pickelhaube considering its age being a military official’s helmet. Standard leather body in superb condition with both peaks firmly attached, the stitching not rotted. Minor congealing marks to both front and rear peaks. Excellent slightly subdued gilt overall. Officers front plate with cut out crown. Dragoon style spike cross base with domes instead of stars. Domed set of chin scales with a single Prussian cockade, at this period only one cockade was worn. Square cut front peak with peak trim. To the interior nco’s 12 tongued liner in good condition with its original drawstring. This pattern of helmet was used during the 1870-71 Franco Prussian War.
