A very heavily used, possibly size 56 Luftwaffe enlisted mans overseas cap for the rare unit of airfield engineers. To the exterior the nap of the cloth it is very thin with the exception of underneath the side curtains and in between the folded envelope at the top of the cap, some of the side stitching has rotted through age. A non decaled camouflage M.42 helmet with raw edge, it appears to have been painted a deep sand, it has been stored for many years and has suffered from rust bleed.
