GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE ADMINISTRATION HIGH GRADE SHOULDER BOARD.

A shoulder board of an Oberst Leutnant of the Luftwaffe Administration Service. Green base colour with red underlay between the slightly oxidised silver twisted cord and the green, one gilt rank pip indicating Oberst Leutnant. Removed from tunic, stitch marks remain, as a prisoner of war the insignia was removed by Private Tallentaire of the Royal Scots.  read more

An interesting variation on the typical Afrika Korps rucksack made from a mid weight olive brown canvas throughout. Most of the closures are the Lux type buckle and strap end, these are a lightly rusted metal, however good and strong. To the rear are the two Y strap mounting type brackets. Subdued grey exterior weave inter-twined with lemon yellow between the subdued grey with lemon yellow wool underlay with a further underlay of the Feldpost green wool colour.
