An unusual Kriegsmarine officers dagger, the construction being standard. The blade is the double fullered non etched blade with full maker’s mark by WKC but with nice ordnance issue markings of a Weimar style eagle over the letter ‘M’ with the number ‘386’ below. GERMAN WWII DLV/NSFK FLYERS KNIFE.

A nice example blade by F & A Helbig of Steinbach. The very fine and thin blue leather washer still fitted between the blade and the lower cross guard. The enamel swastika on either side of the cross guard is undamaged. Some fraying to the leather of the grip. The leather of the scabbard is good. The light tan tropical equipment loop, possibly for Luftwaffe use. It must always be remembered that the colourings of the tropical web differ between the services and this example is very close to a Luftwaffe colour. Some rust to the D ring.  read more
