RUSSIAN WWII BERLIN BATTLE DAMAGED M 40 HELMET.

A very fine relic from the battle of Berlin, found in 1995 in a ruined house very close to the Reichstag, the building that it was found in was part of what the East Germans called the killing zone following the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961 and it remained empty until the falling of the Berlin Wall. Standard Soviet M40 helmet with rust bleed overall but still having good traces of its original Russian green paint finish the shell badly cracked to its crown, from a very close explosion, complete with its with its correct rexine and cloth inner lining, and its correct chinstrap. Faint markings remain to the paintwork of the inner rear skirt, but too faint to read. A great relic.
