BRITISH BOER WAR ENLISTED MAN’S PITH HELMET.

A very good condition late 19th century enlisted ranks pith helmet worn by a member of the 1st Battalion the West Yorkshire Regiment in the Boer war. Cork skull totally undamaged, the wrapped Pagree all complete, with its 1st Battalion the West Yorkshire Regiment hand embroidered insignia to the left hand side of the helmet as the helmet is worn, to the interior the brown leather sweatband all complete, with a leather chinstrap of which one end has torn making it unable to slip over the brass strap attachment loop, a rare item of headress of the Boer war.
