GERMAN WWI ENLISTED RANKS PRUSSIAN PICKLEHAUBE WITH FIELD COVER.

A nice condition all leather Pickelhaube, with good strong body possibly size 56 or 57, the central skull excellent condition, both peaks securely attached to the main body, the front peak trim in brass slightly distorted as is quite common with enlisted ranks helmets, the rear peak unusually in a softer leather than normally encountered clearly stamped B.A.1V (Army Korps 4), good all matching finish to the brass fittings, original leather strap, both national and state cockade fitted, some minor losses to the Prussian cockade. To the interior the eight-tongue leather liner, is soft and supple with its original leather drawstring, a faint outline of the maker’s ink stamp visible, the helmet is complete with its camouflage field cover, which has the drawn outline of a reserve cross to the front of the cover.
