USA WWII ARMY AIR FORCE A2 PAINTED JACKET.

A scarce relic of the U.S. Army air forces bombing campaign over Europe in World War II, size 36 A2 leather flying jacket, with its original manufacturers label, plus label of size 36 and other Army air forces acceptance stamps to the lining. The jacket fitted with its original Conmar zip which is fully functional, the name label removed, to the left hand side of the breast a squadron patch which is faint which we believe to be the 545th bomber Squadron of the 9 th Army Air Force which flew from RAF Grafton flying B-17 s over France Germany and Italy.. The cuffs are gone on both sleeves with the original bottom band still being in place. On the reverse side a full back of artwork with a B 17 flying with exploding anti-aircraft shells around it and bombs dropping from the aircraft. Some areas of stress to the leather and cracking, one split approximately 6 cm,s long to the edge of the neck the lining shredded above the label, otherwise all complete.
