AUSTRIAN WWI TRENCH CLUB DISPLAY.

A fantastic display of three Austrian trench clubs used by Austrian Stormtroopers in WWI. This display mounted presumably for a museum, the first club being 70cm long with the protruding spike and a forward facing spike, the second being 51cm long, standard wood haft with cast iron moulded head and the third being 43cm long is of the sprung type with half wooden haft and its leather wrist securing strap. They are mounted on a museum quality display board with a brass plaque below, which reads ‘EISENSTOCK 1914-18’. All these three trench clubs are shown pages 480 and 481 of the excellent work The Emperors Coat in the First World War, Uniforms and Equipment of the Austro Hungarian Army from 1914 to 1918. The Austrian Armed Forces employed many stormtroopers for trench raiding on the Italians in the mountains of northern Italy.
