GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE MEDICAL SERVICE WHITE TOP VISOR CAP.

A rare example of the blue piped white top cap, complete with its standard mohair centre band. The blue piping to the upper and lower sections of the blue centre band quite moth damaged in places, the blue has also faded to such an effect that there is very little difference in the colour, with the blue piping of the medical service waffenfarbe and the basic colour of the Luftwaffe blue grey hat. The white top itself being canvas has not been attacked by moth. Standard Luftwaffe strap with two oval buckles. Matched set of stamped insignia. Double edged rim to the visor with some crazing. The white top has two pre sewn holes behind the eagle to fit the earlier short droop tailed eagle but has been fitted with a standard mid war period wide winged normal tail eagle. The mid tan sweatband is complete, the stitching slightly loose to the rear of the cap and one split in the sweatband near the forehead.
