GERMAN WWI SAXON GUARD REITER M.15 HELMET.

A very rare helmet being the standard Cuirassier helmet in steel but fitted with the large Saxon front plate in field grey. This is not a standard Cuirassier shaped helmet but having the raised rim behind the oval shaped spike base indicating that this is a designated Saxon Guard Reiter helmet. The skull is in excellent condition with its correct large sized State and Saxon cockades, correct leather chinstrap. The interior with its 7 tongued liner in good condition with original drawstring. The helmet is marked to the inner lip of the lobster tail ‘GR.2 ES’ (Guard Reiter 2nd Squadron).
