SAXON FIELD ARTILLERY OFFICERS PICKELHAUBE.

A lovely condition size 54½ wartime fibre bodied helmet constructed in the classic Saxon side profile shape with its large Saxon 8 star sunburst front plate with its white metal overlay plate. All gilded fittings excellent with all stars intact. Standard artillery domed chin scales. Both of the field cockades are in the Saxon non serrated edge style. Standard officers front peak and back strap. The helmet is with its black parade horsehair plume. The Dresden gilt blocked marked leather sweatband shows minor signs of wear with its original inner grey silk lining, which has some shredding. The body to the helmet is superb.
