GERMAN WWII SA HONOUR DAGGER.

The SA honour dagger was produced by the Eickhorn Company both with and without a linked chain hanger. Eickhorn produced these daggers with both the Damascus and the standard polished steel blade but with honour mounts, this can be clearly seen within the original Eickhorn Kundendienst (catalogue). This very fine example with standard SA blade with the correct early Eickhorn trademark with virtually all the cross grain finish remaining with minor scuffs and the standard markings that are produced by the years of the scabbard internal brass blade retaining bands running against the dagger blade. The dagger is with its original leather washer, which butts up to the lower of the two honour cross guards. The blade is an excellent tight fit to the scabbard. The cross guards feature the enhanced oak leaf designs with the excellent condition wood grip having a standard SA nickel inset and an undamaged SA inset badge at the top of the cross guard. One indentation on the reverse side of the wooden grip. The closure nut shows no indication of it ever being opened. The grip eagle features the high necked eagle, which is characteristic of the grip eagles on the honour dagger. The scabbard is covered in the brown very fine grained leather always found on honour daggers with their own individual features. All the original screws intact without the heads being turned. Some slight losses and dryness to the left hand and right hand sides of the edge of the scabbard leather and some scuffing to the reverse side just below the central mount where it has been worn and rubbed against possibly a uniform. The highly complicated individual swastika adorned links all in place with its SA logo to the sprung loaded clip, fitted with a standard brown leather belt loop with nickel D ring.
