An extremely rare helmet from France in the middle 1940’s after the creation of the Vichy Government. The helmet used for the Guard of Marshall Petain was the Motorised Corps helmet of 1935, . This example is painted dark blue on the inside and black on the exterior with its totally original Marshall Petain Bodyguard helmet plate. VICHY FRANCE WWII A RARE BADGE OF THE GAELIC FRANCISQUE.

This Order was established by Marshall Petain as Head of the Third Reich Alliance Government of Vichy in 1941. At least 2,626 individuals received the Order of the Francisque, the total number of recipients remains however unknown as the archive listing all the Orders was burnt at the end of WWII.
