GERMAN WWI M.18 HELMET.

The punch for the maker’s stamp is faint but the numbers for the shell size clearly ‘64’. The exterior shell has at least 50% of rust bleed with the remaining dark apple green finish all remaining. HERTFORDSHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS HELMET PLATE.

A nice condition helmet plate for the Hertfordshire Rifle Volunteers blue cloth helmet. Standard gilded officers back plate with the Hart of Hertfordshire in a white metal overlay. Both fitting lugs remaining to the reverse side. Some black paint loss to the star.  read more

BRITISH BOER WAR FIELD SURGEON'S INSTRUMENT CASE.

A very nice brass banded mahogany carrying case for a military field surgeon's kit measuring 45 x 17cm. Oval disc to the lid, brass disc reads'Surgeon instruments' broad arrow marked, date '1901'. The upper inner lid is lined in purple velvet. A maker's label of 'Evans & Wormull 31 Stamford Street, Blackfriars, London'. The base has three surgeons knives only. GERMAN WWII KRIEGSMARINE MINESWEEPER BADGE.

A non maker marked convex shaped Minesweeper badge, which has lost virtually all of its gilt but unusually retains the silvering to the exploding bomb. We have noticed over the years that many Kriegsmarine personnel would personally bend their badges to fit more snugly against the uniform, this practice was far more popular amongst Kriegsmarine personnel than any other of the armed services.  read more
