A rare piece of headdress in exceptionally good condition is the model 1895 U.S. campaign hat worn in the Spanish American War and the late Indian Wars. Severe rubbing across the breast of the eagle. Some of the navy gilt remaining to the outer body of the buckle. Stamped ‘R S & S’ to the inside, some of which has been obliterated by the wear of the belt clip. Both double pronged belt fixing systems working. R S & S were the most prolific suppliers of belt buckles to the Kriegsmarine.  read more
