A very nice condition ET64 stamped shell. Batch number ‘1186’ Luftwaffe single decal M.40 combat helmet. Good proud Luftwaffe eagle with two major abrasions, one behind the head of the eagle, the other to the very tip of the right hand wing. ET64 stamped shell, batch number ‘2552’. The exterior has three or four minor spots of rust, the remainder of the skull having all its original paintwork. It is very difficult to get the smallest size available, this example is marked ‘ET60’, originally issued in the early apple green, more than likely as a double decal combat helmet, refurbished at ordnance works and over-painted in a later grey with a replacement decal. GERMAN WWII CLOSE COMBAT CLASP IN BRONZE BY FLL.

A lovely condition example, virtually all of its bronze finish remaining. Slight traces of the blueing to the central plate still showing. On the reverse side it would appear at first glance that a repair has been affected to the base of the hinge, we believe this to be a coloration from the original manufacture.
