Severe rubbing across the breast of the eagle. Some of the navy gilt remaining to the outer body of the buckle. Stamped ‘R S & S’ to the inside, some of which has been obliterated by the wear of the belt clip. Both double pronged belt fixing systems working. R S & S were the most prolific suppliers of belt buckles to the Kriegsmarine. read more

A nice example, size 56, of a 2nd pattern tropical visored field cap with its untouched Bevo woven blue on tan eagle and cockade, with the field adaptation of officers corded style piping to the crown and front scallop of the cap.
