GERMAN WWII SS MEIN KAMPF WEDDING BOX.

GERMAN WWII SS MEIN KAMPF WEDDING BOX.

A beautiful condition uncleaned example of the SS presentation Mein Kampf box given to SS members on their wedding day. This example was recently discovered in a house clearance of a deceased in the United Kingdom. Very faint paint splashes to the lid. No chips or marks, or damage of any sort, quite often the mitred joints on the box section can come apart on these boxes, this has been kept in a good dry environment and the joints are tight.

GERMAN WWII ALLGEMEINE SS OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

GERMAN WWII ALLGEMEINE SS OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A most superb example of the Allgemeine SS Officers visor cap. It has all the features of the most desired variety of these caps. Plain black silk lining, centre celluloid lozenge without any markings below. SS ink stamped to the visor plus the large canvas 'Tuchmutze' canvas label beneath the leather sweat band. The cap is approx. size 57/58. It is totally moth free with excellent nap to the cloth. White piping, very high quality centre velvet band. Standard officers silver wire cap cords. Slight spidering to the exterior of the black visor. The insignia fitted is a complete matching set of the SS skull and eagle with a bright silver wash and a highlighted central swastika. The black silk lining to the interior has shredded in the forehead area. The remainder of the lining is perfect. The mid brown leather sweatband is also superb.

ENGLISH 1796 HEAVY CAVALRY TROOPERS SWORD.

ENGLISH 1796 HEAVY CAVALRY TROOPERS SWORD.

A good example of an extremely difficult to find 1796 Heavy Cavalry troopers sword. The blade is generally in good condition, but black marked overall. No deep corrosion and no chips to the cutting edge. The point of the blade, which was originally hatched point has been re-shaped to spear point, as was quite common. Maker marked on the back of the blade ?Josh H Reddell?. The grip, which has not been modified in any form, is of the same condition as the blade with some dark spotting from old corrosion cleaned off. The grip has slight chippings to the wood but otherwise good. Marked on the flat back strap ?RD (Royal Dragoons) ?F? followed by ?29?. The scabbard, again in excellent condition, undented, matching in condition to the sword, also matching marked ?RD F29?, complete with both of its hanging rings and the scabbard complete with its wood liners. A very good sword, which could have been used at the Battle of Waterloo by the Royal Dragoons.

 GERMAN WWI UNUSUAL CAMOUFLAGE HELMET.

GERMAN WWI UNUSUAL CAMOUFLAGE HELMET.

A totally untouched size 62 helmet. The leather liner is dusty from storage with a little rodent chewing to one finger. The very scarce original chin strap is present and undamaged and to the exterior has been applied a rudimentary brushed splotch like camo. This has been achieved by the application of black and brick red areas over the original field grey. A totally untouched helmet still with the soldiers name penciled and scratched into the metalwork.

GERMAN THIRD REICH SS OFFICERS CHAIN DAGGER.

GERMAN THIRD REICH SS OFFICERS CHAIN DAGGER.

An excellent example of the scarce model 1936 SS officers dagger with suspension chains. The blade is good, at least 90% of the original cross grain finish is remaining. Good clear deep motto to the central section of the blade in contrasting lower grey colour. Lines to the blade where it has rubbed against the inner brass blade retaining bands. Some slight greying to the blade close to the join with the lower grip mount. The blade is non maker marked as all of the SS chained officers daggers should have been. Ebony grip excellent with undamaged black SS runic inset. A good quality national eagle in nickel. Some minor abrasions to the wood grip but no undue damage or splits. The good early heavy nickel finish to the upper and lower grip mounts is generally good with some abrasions to the lower of the two mounts. The scabbard is the early anodised variety with the portion between the centre scabbard mount and the lower scabbard mount still retaining much of its original lacquer. Good finish to all three of the heavy nickel fittings with minor distortion in shape to the upper scabbard mount. All of the screws are present, complete with its correct set of chains in excellent condition, double SS runic marked within a square to the reverse side of one of the chains. The sprung loaded belt clip is present and working correctly. Minor indentations to the ball of the lower scabbard mount. A very clean example.

 WWI MIDDLESEX REGIMENT WOLSEY HELMET.

WWI MIDDLESEX REGIMENT WOLSEY HELMET.

A nice totally untouched example with broad arrow above I to the interior, indicating Indian issue. To the exterior is the deep multiply folded puggaree. Having to one side the original 2nd 8th Middlesex flash. The whole helmet is completely untouched and dusty and dirty from storage. Only a small percentage of the sweat band remains as it has clearly suffered from great dryness. The overall shape is excellent and uncrushed with just a little damage to the edges.

 GERMAN WWII ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER.

GERMAN WWII ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER.

An excellent condition dagger with mint blade by WKC Solingen. Having all of its cross grain finish remaining. A good tight fit into its scabbard. All of the plating to the top pommel, lower grip ring and cross guard is good. The plating to the edge of the scabbard is thin. It is complete with both of its hanging rings. The deep orange grip has one very small crack close to the lower grip ring.

 BRITISH WWI SNIPERS FACE MASK.

BRITISH WWI SNIPERS FACE MASK.

An extremely rare item of WWI issue militaria being the fine veiling snipers face mask. A famous photo exists of an officer in the trenches posing wearing one of these masks and the book that the photo can be found within is WWI Trench Warfare Volume 1, 1914 to 1916 by Dr. Steven Bull for the Osprey Elite series. The photograph itself upon page 59 is very clear and shows all the detailing including the dark reinforced eyepieces and the strip covering the bridge of the nose. The item is produced from a fine black gauze-like material and is very well configured having interior strapping so the metal eyepieces that are completely bound in cotton can be pulled tightly to the face to facilitate easy observation. To the interior are lightly padded straps with cords of elastic that clearly would have been tied around the wearer?s head prior to the veil being extended over the head. The whole item is in very good condition showing some signs of storage and is in a dark charcoal grey colour. There are one or two nicks and areas of pulls to the calico, however the whole unit remains in very good condition throughout with just signs of wear to the interior pads and is the only example we have ever seen other than this famous period photograph. Items such as these face masks display wonderfully and make topical conversation pieces when placed alongside gas masks and tank masks.
