Known as the Ehrenwinkel Fur Alte Kampfer. The honour chevrons for old campaigners was authorised for wear by all members of the SS who have joined the SS, NSDAP or one of the other parties for the aged organisations prior to the 30th January 1933. A profile view of Adolf Hitler constructed in base metal painted black and fitted to a period wood frame. The head measures 18 x 14cm, wood frame measures 28 x 23cm, with suspension facilities to the reverse side. The lightweight spun aluminium M.35 helmet being lightweight for officers parade. Much of the original apple green finish remaining, some slight losses as per our web images with three minor indentations to the crown, some paint loss to the rim. In our opinion the most difficult item of Afrikakorps issued clothing to obtain. Hundreds of photographs can be seen of the men wearing the greatcoats, the desert in the night time is very cold and it is surprising how few of these greatcoats are left.
