A hugely impressive oil painting of a submarine Knights Cross Winner Heinz Krey. Heinz Krey was born in Wiesbaden in December 1921 and was killed on the 23rd May 1943 in the middle of the North Atlantic. He was posthumously awarded the Knights Cross on the 4th September 1943. A lovely condition citation, standard print, folded once, non punch holed for the Kuban Shield awarded to Unteroffizier Johann Eder, to the 6th Company Jager Regiment 228, dated 15th April 1944 with facsimile signature of General Field Marshall Von Kleist. The 228th Jager Regiment was part of the 101st Jager Division and engaged in heavy fighting to secure the Kuban bridgehead in 1943.  read more
