GERMAN WWI M16 CAMOUFLAGE TRENCH HELMET WITH UNIQUE STYLE OF CAMOUFLAGE.
A fabulous exterior shell in a 3 colour combination of maroon, green and ochre without black separation lines, we have stated constantly in recent years how the camouflage helmet has morphed into an art form depending on the style and manner of the camouflage, this one is highly unusual. The three pad liner is all complete with its inner horsehair pads. All the tongues are present. A German Gefreiter’s name, which unfortunately is indistinct is hand applied to one of the liner pads. The size stamping of the helmet is so faint that it is impossible to decipher, the previous collector has deduced that this is a size 66 shell. The collector’s original very descriptive helmet is still attached to the liner band.
