GERMAN WWII FIELD POLICE OR RECRUITING DISTRICT DOUBLE EREL VISOR CAP.

A very well worn double Erel marked officers visor cap with orange piping for either Field Police units or Recruiting District. The cap is a large size, possibly 59 or 60, it has a good saddle shape. It has the unusual combination of bullion wire eagle and bullion wire cockade, both absolutely 100% original to the cap. The colour of the cap has faded over the years, the orange waffenfarbe in some cases looks pink, but on inspecting the waffenfarbe under the rear overhang of the cap the original colour can be seen. There are two moth nips to the crown. It can be seen by our web images that the cap has had considerable wear, the Erel trademark is thankfully still visible and impressed still into the mid tan leather sweatband, which again is all complete. Erel markings under the slightly cracked celluloid centre lozenge. Unusually for a cap of this amount of wear there is no rot to the stitching that holds the sweatband to the main body of the cap. Heavy finger marks underneath the peak. For those collectors that like heavily worn items this is a perfect example and priced accordingly.
