BRITISH WWII ROYAL NAVY SIEBE GORMAN 12 BOLT DIVING HELMET AND EQUIPMENT
A very nice and sleepy 12 bolt Siebe Gorman deep-sea diver's helmet. All of the tinning remains on the helmet, and some indentations to the crown. The Siebe Gorman oval-shaped label is missing from the front of the helmet, and also the brass 12-hole collar that fits over the 12 studs with securing wing nuts that hold the suit water-tight in place is also missing. All other air and communication fittings are present. Accompanying the helmet are the divers' lead sandals with all leather strapping present. On his Siebe Gorman marked divers knife, the trade name is faint and all fitted into a custom-made leather scabbard of which the stitching has rotted, and it is still fitted with the long leg strap that would pass around the diving suit. These helmets were used by Royal Navy fleet clearance divers, and we estimate the date to be early 1930's. Accompanying the group are the very heavy and long communication and air pipes as seen in the photographs on our website. The whole grouping collectively is very heavy, and prior arrangements and quotations for shipping should be made directly with us.
