GERMAN WWII I.G.FARBEN WORKERS PAPER GROUPING.

A very interesting grouping found in a French flea market recently, comprising the Vorlaufiger Fremdenpass, which is a temporary foreign workers passports. Al contained in a soldbuch pass holder with the silver embossed eagle and swastika to the face side with the word ‘Soldbuch’ below. The pass has been issued to a French citizen Henri Duranthon with a photograph of the recipient with the eagle and swastika over-stamps, the pass is dated ‘March 1944’. Within the pass there is a small quantity of loose paperwork, a restaurant menu, a German auslander pass, another pass Passierschein dated ‘1944’, a postcard from Perigueux in the Dordgogne in France to possibly his employers in Breslau in Germany, non posted, Perigueux is the area with the marketplace where this grouping was discovered recently. A further mixture of French and German documents and handwritten annotations. A further multi folded document very delicate in a mixture of Czech and German indicating he may have been working in one of the occupied lands. Further to the pass and its contents there is a separate ‘1945’ dated diary with many handwritten annotations, including many annotations around the date of the 6th/7th/8th, 9th May 1945. Lastly and possibly the most important items in the grouping his original plastic protected ausweis for him to enter the works on the I.G.Farben industries and the extremely rare identity disc to enter the I.G.Farben plant at Heydebreck. The I.G.Farben plant in Heydebreck in Pomerania, now in Poland was to create chemical plants capable of producing a new type of synthetic fuel. There were various camps for political and work prisoners in the area. The whole grouping is worthy of further research.
