BRITISH WWII MILLS EQUIPMENT COLT 1911 HOLSTER AND AMMUNITION POUCH.

A nice rare early dated set of the Mills Equipment holster for the American made and supplied Colt 1911 semi automatic pistol, complete with its matching ammunition pouch, also broad arrow marked and dated ‘1940’. Original owner’s initials of ‘FLB’ hand applied to the rear of the holster. At the outbreak of WWII Britain was enormously short of arms of all sizes and procured many Colt pistols from the United States, this is the Mills Equipment holster for those American procured pistols, many went on to be used by British Special Forces. The ammunition pouches is attached to the holster by a brass fitting, which can be removed.
